You probably have no idea where to begin in a big and old book like the Bible. Funny enough the beginning might not be the best starting point, for the Bible revolves around one person: Jesus. At least, according to christians.

The Bible consists of 66 “books” that have chapters and verses. At first, you would not say it, but from the first book of Genesis to the last book of Revelation, it is all about Jesus. That is why it might be convenient to start reading from the beginning of Jesus’ life in the most polished book in the Bible describing it: the book of John.

Jesus is the core of the christian faith. He was God incarnated in a human body. Any idea why such a great and mighty God would come down to the earth? For us, for everyone. For me, and… for you.

Why? There are several reasons to mention. But the most important one might be to fix the gap between God and men. This gap was made by ourselves, and christians like to call it also the ‘emptiness’ people like you and me try to fill up nowadays, with all kinds of material stuff, like possessions, money or relationships.

Christians believe they don’t have to face this feeling of emptiness (or however you would call it) all alone. This gap was meant to be filled with experiencing God. Just like Adam and Eve lived together with God in the beginning of the earth, so you and I can live again these days. When you start living together with God, it means you can ask for advice when you are facing hard times, but it also means you can thank Him in the beautiful phases of life.

You can do all of this by praying, which is simply talking to God. You can say anything to Him. See Him as your best friend! Maybe you don’t know yet how to pray exactly. 🤲 Let me help you along. I encourage you to pray this prayer out loud:

“God, thank You for listening to me right now. Thank You for making it possible to talk with You because of Jesus. Today, I have these plans: [now mention today’s plans]. Thank You for Your presence and Your protection with me today in everything I will be doing. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
